Submit to Appalachia@250: Dreams of a Shared Future
100 Days in Appalachia, in partnership with the Rural Digital Resilience Project, is documenting Appalachians’ reflections on America’s past, present and future as part of the national US@250 initiative.
Appalachia@250 is co-created alongside YOU – people living in Appalachia today. We want this project to capture how you are thinking about America’s promises and failures, your own communities, and what you envision for the future of Appalachia and the country at large. This project should embolden you to tell your own stories in your own voice.
Over the next few months we will periodically be posting new prompts to this page to get your gears turning about Appalachia’s past and future. You can respond to these prompts in whatever way most speaks to you - videos, photography, voice recordings, essays, poetry - anything that captures your narrative in your voice.* You can send us your original responses using the dropbox links below:
*Please include a written explanation alongside your submission answering the following questions (can be doc, pdf, screenshot of a text, etc – whatever is easiest so we have context about your submission!): What have you submitted? And why is it important to you or your community?
If there is work that you have not created but want to share with us, please reach out [email protected] or @100daysinappalachia on Instagram. We love to see cool stuff!
If you have any other questions about the project or opportunities to engage, please reach out to [email protected].
